A makespan minimization problem for versatile developers in the game industry

Today, the development of a modern video game draws upon multiple areas expertise. Moreover, its cost could be as high tens millions dollars. Consequently, we should carefully schedule jobs so not to increase total cost. However, project leaders traditionally treat developers alike or even all manually. In this study, consider versatile-developer scheduling problem. The objective is minimize makespan project. We propose branch-and-bound algorithm (B&B) generate optimal schedules for small problem instances. On other hand, an imperialist competitive (ICA) proposed obtain approximate large Lastly, computational experiments are conducted show performances both algorithms. When size ( e.g. , n ≤ 12), B&B can within 5 s. For some instances = 600), near-optimal obtained by ICA 10 min. final results imply that algorithms converge quickly and solution quality.
